Africa-Press – Nigeria. Taraba State chapter of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has dismissed reports alleging a leadership crisis within the party, describing the claims as unfounded and politically motivated.

Addressing journalists on Thursday at the party’s Secretariat in Jalingo, Senator Abubakar Umar Tutare, a member of the ADC Board of Trustees, debunked the reports, insisting that no leadership tussle exists at either the national or state level.

“I am not aware of any leadership tussle in ADC and I have not seen any.

“It’s a rumour; people are telling you lies. Whatever thing that APC will do to destroy ADC will fail,” Tutare said.

The former federal lawmaker noted that the ADC was composed of experienced individuals who have served in various government positions and are prepared to contribute to the nation’s development.

He accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of mismanaging the country and urged Nigerians to vote for a change of leadership in the upcoming general elections.

“It is unfortunate that we have a country where leaders don’t have the interest of the common man.

“Nigerians have seen how the APC is ruling us and destroying the country. I am calling on Nigerians to come out and vote out this government,” he added.

Responding to concerns about Nigeria edging toward a one-party system, Tutare accused the APC of attempting to dominate the political landscape. He expressed confidence that the ADC would perform strongly in the next elections, especially in Taraba State.

“We are challenging them, and by the grace of God, we are going to defeat them in the general elections.

“We are going to have 18 House of Assembly members in Taraba State. ADC is fully prepared for the fight,” he said.

Tutare revealed that his visit to Jalingo was aimed at assessing preparations for the unveiling of the new State ADC Secretariat.
