Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Nigerian Army has announced major breakthroughs in a series of coordinated operations conducted across the country between 29 November and 1 December 2025, resulting in the neutralisation of eight terrorists, the arrest of 51 suspects, the rescue of 27 victims, and the recovery of a large cache of weapons, explosives, and stolen items.

According to a statement posted on the Army’s official Facebook page on Tuesday, troops in the North East, specifically 151 Task Force Battalion, 152 Task Force Battalion, and 192 Battalion, killed four ISWAP/JAS fighters during ambush and clearance missions in Borno State.

The troops also recovered three AK-47 rifles, multiple magazines, assorted ammunition, an AK-47 working part, and a Baofeng radio, while successfully repelling infiltration attempts around Chibok.

In separate operations across Plateau, Taraba, Benue, Kogi, Kaduna, and Delta States, troops under Operations WHIRL STROKE and ENDURING PEACE rescued 20 victims, including women and a minor.

Security forces also arrested suspected kidnappers, human traffickers, extremist collaborators, illegal miners, cultists, and a gunrunner, bringing the total number of suspects arrested nationwide to 51.

Twenty-five drug suspects were apprehended in Bayelsa and Rivers States in joint operations with the NDLEA.

Troops in Taraba neutralised four violent extremists during a communal clash response in Karim Lamido, recovering a fabricated AK-47 rifle, Dane guns, ammunition, and two motorcycles. In Plateau, security personnel recovered 76 rustled cattle and returned them to their owners.

In the South-South, troops dismantled an illegal oil refining site containing 1,000 litres of stolen crude, while in Kaduna State, operatives intercepted vehicles carrying 5,000 kg of gelatine explosives, 3,000 metres of cordtex fuse, electric detonators, and other materials.

The Army also confirmed the arrest of a notorious gunrunner, Shuaibu Isah, popularly known as Alhaji, who was caught while attempting to receive 1,000 rounds of ammunition from fleeing accomplices.

The Nigerian Army said it remains committed to eliminating criminal networks and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
