Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Provost of the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem, has warned newly admitted students of the institution to avoid cultism and other social vices as they begin their academic journey.

Dr Raheem gave the call during the matriculation ceremony for the students who got admitted into the College for the 2025/2026 academic session in Ilesa on Thursday.

He also assured the matriculating students that the College would continue to provide a conducive environment for learning and professional development throughout their stay.

He encouraged them to attend lectures regularly and participate fully in practical and clinical sessions designed to strengthen their competence in various health-related fields.

According to him, “the institution remains committed to offering opportunities for academic and professional growth.”

He urged students to join academic clubs, professional associations, health outreaches and community development activities.

“Dear matriculating students, as you sign the matriculation register today, remember that you are writing the first chapter of a new academic journey. Work hard, stay focused and let integrity be your guiding principle,” he said.

The Deputy Provost, Margaret Oparinde, congratulated the students and their parents, noting that the College would continue striving for academic excellence and maintain its status as a leading health training institution.

Administering the matriculation oath, the Registrar, Moshood Afolabi, through the Heads of Departments, advised the students to remain dedicated and committed throughout their studies.

The Dean of Students Affairs, Olayemi Rasaq Bello, urged the new students to conduct themselves responsibly within the community and maintain cordial relationships with their landlords and landladies.

Students were matriculated across several departments, including Pharmacy, Epidemiology and Disease Control, Medical Imaging and X-ray, Public Health, Community Health, Dispensing Opticianry, Environmental Technology and Dental Therapy.
