Africa-Press – Nigeria. Kano was thrown into grief after a woman died just hours after delivering five babies at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital.
The incident reportedly happened on Wednesday night after the woman had successfully given birth to quintuplets earlier the same day.
According to a local radio station, the woman was admitted to the hospital where she delivered the babies, but her condition worsened shortly after the natural childbirth.
Medical sources said, “Her condition suddenly deteriorated after delivery despite efforts by doctors to stabilise her.”
The five newborns are currently receiving intensive care at the hospital, although officials have not yet shared details about their health condition.
Hospital authorities are yet to release an official statement explaining what led to the woman’s death.
Authorities are expected to provide more information as medical reviews and investigations continue.
