Africa-Press – Nigeria. Christians in Abia State have condemned the founder of Omenala Bu Ndu Na Eziokwu, Mathias Ezeaku, for his statements about the late preacher, Rev. Uma Ukpai.

Ezeaku in a trending video, said the Second Niger Bridge built by the administration of late former President, Mohammadu Buhari was more beneficial to the Igbos than the evangelistic outreaches embarked on by Rev. Uma Ukpai in his lifetime.

He also claimed that the late former President could emerge a hero among the Igbos if his name is directly compared with Reverend Ukpai.

“Between Buhari and Uma Ukpai who was a savior to Ndigbo? I am here to tell you that if there is heaven, Buhari will go to heaven,” the Enugu-born Ezeaku said.

But reacting to the video, some Christians and other supporters of the late preacher described Ezeaku’s statements as an attack on the late Reverend Uma Ukpai, the Igbos and the Christian community in Nigeria at large.

Some of the Christians who responded to Ezeaku, including Benard Nwadiba, James Ukoha , Kalu Uduma and Mrs Nene Grace, advised the Omenala Ga Adi promoter to refrain from ridiculing Igbo personalities.

“What does Mathias Ezeaku intend to achieve by running a ridiculous comparison that is offensive to the Igbo people?

“Does he know about the Polytechnic, road, schools and other things established by Rev Dr.Uma Ukpai while alive?” Kalu Uduma, a pastor from Ohafia, Abia State, said.
