Africa-Press – Nigeria. Suleiman Yahaya Richifa, member representing Soba Federal Constituency of Kaduna State in the House of Representatives, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Richifa, who also serves as the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Aviation Technology, announced his resignation in a letter dated March 27, 2026, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman in Richifa Ward, Soba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In the letter, the lawmaker said his decision to leave the party was due to the ongoing internal crisis, persistent court cases, and leadership disagreements within the PDP.

According to him, the unresolved conflicts and divisions at various levels of the party have made it increasingly difficult for him to continue his membership and active participation.

“The internal crisis, unending court cases and the resulting leadership disagreement and divisions within the party at various levels have made it increasingly difficult for me to continue my membership and commitment as a member,” he stated.

Richifa added that the persistent disputes have weakened the unity and direction that once defined the party.

He, however, expressed appreciation to party members for their support over the years, describing them as a strong pillar throughout his political journey.

“I sincerely thank all the party faithful for their support and belief in me over the years. You have been a strong pillar and I remain deeply appreciative of the trust and encouragement I have received,” he said.

The lawmaker asked the party leadership to accept the letter as his formal notice of resignation from the PDP.
