Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, has announced temporary traffic diversions in preparation for the 2026 Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled for Monday, April 6.

The notice, shared via the state government’s official X account on Friday, outlined several routes that will be affected by the planned closures.

These include King George V Road near the Mobil Filling Station junction, Onikan Roundabout inbound to TBS, Flagstaff House inbound to TBS, Outer Marina by the State House leading to TBS, Campbell Street near the Old Defence Building, and Catholic Mission Street by St. Nicholas Church.

Authorities stated that the restrictions will take effect from 7:00 a.m. on the day of the event. Residents and motorists have been advised to make alternative travel arrangements and anticipate traffic congestion around the affected areas.

The government expressed regret for any inconvenience the closures may cause and appealed for public understanding and cooperation during the celebration.

The Lagos Fanti Carnival, an annual cultural event organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, is expected to attract large crowds as it showcases the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the state.
