Africa-Press – Nigeria. The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State has formally disclaimed reports alleging that Rev. Fr. David Terzugwe Golozo has emerged as the party’s consensus candidate for the Gboko West (Gbemacha) State Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement signed by the Gboko LGA chairman, Hon. Terfa Iorgilim, the party said the publication currently circulating on social media does not reflect its position at any level.
The statement described the claim as “false, misleading, and entirely unauthorised,” adding that it appears to be a deliberate attempt to misinform the public and distort internal party processes.
“For the avoidance of doubt, at no time has the APC in Gboko LGA adopted or endorsed any individual as a consensus candidate for the said constituency,” the statement read.
The party further stressed that neither its ward structures, key stakeholders, nor the State Working Committee had sanctioned any such decision.
According to the APC leadership, the development amounts to “political mischief” capable of creating unnecessary tension within the party and the wider polity.
It warned individuals or groups behind the claim to immediately retract the publication, noting that disciplinary measures could be applied to any member found culpable.
The APC reiterated its commitment to a transparent and constitutionally guided candidate selection process, assuring members and supporters that official decisions would be communicated through appropriate channels.
The statement concluded with a clear position that Gboko West (Gbemacha) currently has no consensus candidate under the APC.
