Following the confirmation of the first case of coronavirus in Niger State, Governor Abubakar Bello has declared a total lockdown in the state with effect from Monday, April 13.
Recall that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had confirmed one case of coronavirus in the state.
It also confirmed 16 other cases in FCT, Lagos, Katsina, Kaduna, Anambra, and Ondo States, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the country to 305.
Speaking on the development on Saturday, the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Muhammad Maikusidi, came from Limawa Area in Minna said the case came from Limawa Area in Minna.
Gov Bello also banned all religious activities until further notice.
He further directed the state COVID-19 taskforce to isolate the area for 14 days.
