Few days after Ligue 1 outfit Monaco confirmed the capture of 2010 World Cup winner Cesc Fàbregas, ex-Super Eagles defender Michael Emenalo is set to do another transfer business with his former employer.
According to French outlet RMC Sport, Monaco are on the brink of signing Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi.
The former strike partner of former Nigeria U23 star Imoh Ezekiel spent the first half of the season on loan at Valencia but his loan spell was cut short after he fell out of favour, after making only four starts in La Liga.
Batshuayi is expected to join Monaco on a six-month loan deal, with a purchase clause inserted into the agreement between the Premier League side and their French counterparts.
The 25-year-old was linked with English clubs West Ham and Everton but he prefers a move to Monaco because he knows Emenalo and new signing Fàbregas.
In the summer transfer window, Emenalo pulled off a transfer coup by signing the highly-rated England U17 World Cup winning central defender Jonathan Panzo from Chelsea.
