The German Bundesliga will resume on Saturday, May 16 after it was halted for two months as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

As many as nine Nigeria-eligible players are in line to feature for their respective teams when hostilities resume next weekend.

Ademola Lookman’s RB Leipzig host Freiburg at the Red Bull Arena starting from 1430 hours on Saturday, while two German-born Nigerian players could be involved when Hoffenheim trade tackles with Hertha BSC at PreZero Arena at 1430 hours.

Hoffenheim pay the wages of Kevin Akpoguma and Jordan Torunarigha is at Hertha Berlin.

Still at 1430 hours on Saturday, Super Eagles left-back Jamilu Collins is expected to start for Paderborn vs
Fortuna Dusseldorf at the Merkur Spiel-Arena.

Felix Uduokhai and Noah Bazee’s Augsburg will trade tackles with Wolfsburg at the WWK Arena beginning from 1430 hours. The two German-born players have made 20 appearances between them in the Bundesliga this term.

On Sunday, May 17, Munich-born right-back Kingsley Ehizibue and his Cologne side will be taking on Mainz. Kickoff is at 1430 hours.

The clash between Anthony Ujah’s Union Berlin and Joshua Zirkzee’s Bayern Munich concludes the fixtures on Sunday. The game will be staged at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei at 1700 hours.
