Africa Press-Nigeria:
The Eze Ndigbo of Oyo State, Dr. Alex Anozie, on Friday said the annulment of June 12 presidential election was one of the worst things that ever happened to Nigeria.
Anozie noted that the annulment was an injustice in its totality.
The Eze Ndigbo spoke at the celebration of the second anniversary of June 12 as Democracy Day in Nigeria, organized by Oyo State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Speakers at the event called for a reawakening of June 12 spirit in order for the country to make meaningful progress beyond religious and ethnic affiliations.
Anozie while speaking said that religion and ethnicity should not be a problem in Nigeria under normal circumstances and that if the June 12, 1993, presidential election was allowed to stay, it would have been the best thing to have happened to Nigerian history.
