Africa Press-Nigeria:
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken another swipe at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for berating President Muhammadu Buhari over his promises to foreign envoys, Premium Times reports.
Nigeria’s ruling party responded to the PDP after the opposition in a statement on Wednesday, August 26, condemned Buhari as his promises to Nigerians to fight against insurgency, insecurity, corruption, and improve the economy are yet to be kept after five years in office.
PDP also maintained that the current administration has worsened Nigerians’ conditions after dismissing Buhari’s nine priorities for his remaining three years in office.
The opposition went on to add that the promises to the foreign envoy were ‘fake’.
The party’s spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, alleged that the Buhari-led administration had wrecked the economy instead of improving it.
However, in its reaction, the APC said it has stopped joining issues with the opposition. The ruling party added that the PDP’s 16-year rule was characterized by “voodoo economics, abandoned projects, institutionalized corruption among other frauds.”
Yekini Nabena, the APC deputy national spokesperson, insisted that in spite of the number of yet to be answered corruption cases against members of the present administration, the Buhari-led administration has fought corruption to its minimum.
Nabena also maintained that the president has established the country as a better investment destination.
