Africa Press-Nigeria:

The Economic and Financial Crimes (EFCC) on Thursday secured the conviction of two oil thieves in Lagos State identified as Jacob Momodu and Onutu Anthony.

A statement signed by the Head, EFCC Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwajaren said the duo were sentenced to three years imprisonment.

Uwajaren said Justice I. N. Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, gave the judgement.

He said the convicts were arraigned on a three-count of dealing in petroleum product without appropriate license, following their arrest by officers of the Nigerian Navy, who handed over to the commission.

He said they pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to them.
