Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons are cherishing their ability to end their campaign at the 2019 Cyprus International Women’s Cup with a 3-0 victory against Thailand, thereby placing seventh overall.

The win on Wednesday meant the Falcons leave Thailand with a massive consolation, following defeats by Austria and Belgium, which sandwiched a hard-earned 4-3 spanking of Slovakia in their second match.

Victory in their fourth match saw the African champions end the annual competition in seventh place, following the classification status of the clash with Thailand, much to the delight of the squad.

The Falcons’ glee was shared by the players, coaches and officials, who reckon they have a positive mentality heading into the next phase of their FFIA Women’s World Cup preparations.

The Falcons’ officials took to social media to highlight the team’s form in Wednesday’s game, which they described as a renewed confirmation of the strong Nigerian desire for success.

The Falcons media department wrote: “FT in Paralimni: Nigeria 3-0 #Thailand – @NGSuper_Falcons ended their debut @cypruswomenscup campaign on a winning note at the Tasos Markos Stadium.
“SCORERS: @AsisatOshoala 23′, @EBIONOME 28, Anam Imo 74′ – #CyprusWomensCup #SoarSuperFalcons #Team9jaStrong.”
