Join hands with Sanwo-Olu for a better state – Group urges Lagos residents

Africa-Press – Nigeria. As Babajide Sanwo-Olu resumes office as the governor of Lagos State for the second time, a group has appealed to all residents of the State to join hands with him for more dividends of democracy.

The group, under the auspices of The Mandate Movement, asked Lagosians to support Sanwo-Olu, regardless of their tribe, religion, political affiliation and others

Sanwo-Olu was sworn in today for the commencement of another four years in office.

Lagos became more divided along ethnic, political and religious lines, especially considering the ethnic and political disagreements that characterised the elections.

But, the Chairman of The Mandate Movement, Abdullahi Enilolobo, charged the people to put behind their differences and rally round Sanwo-Olu for the sake of development.

Enilolobo, in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday, urged Sanwo-Olu to continue on the path of sustainability.

He begged the governor to keep to his campaign promises, saying he should conscientiously serve the people of Lagos State with all sincerity of purpose.

He maintained that infrastructural development, social welfare and well-being, educational and human capital development, youth empowerment, and agriculture, as well as security, were on course during Sanwo-Olu’s first term, adding that the feats would be increased with the backing of the masses.

While felicitating Gov Sanwo-Olu, the group maintained that Lagosians have in the last four years complemented the governor’s efforts “towards the implementation of lofty initiatives.”

The association stated that Sanwo-Olu, just like in his first term, should ensure that no sector is developed at the detriment of others.

Enilolobo charged the Sanwo-Olu administration on pensions, gratuity, education, security, sports, and culture, telling Lagos people to expect more in the next four years.

“We call on all Lagosians, irrespective of political affiliation, religion, tribe, norms, and values, to join hands with the Sanwo-Olu administration for a more prosperous Lagos State.
