Africa-Press – Nigeria. The conflicts between Peoples Democratic party’s Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and G5 Governors led by Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, seems to have no end.

The G5 governors that include ; Nyesom Wike of Rivers State Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, of Enugu State Seyi Makinde, of Oyo State and Okezie Ikpeazu Abia State are agitating for the removal of PDP National chairman Mr. Iyorchia Ayu and replace him with a new chairman from the Southern part of Nigeria to respect the long principle of zoning that the party use to operate on as the Presidential Candidate is from the North.

Different attempt by PDP stake holders to settle the lingering crisis seems to be unsuccessful as the G5 governors insist on their demand.

Recently in an Interview with Voice of America Hausa service PDP Presidential Candidate Atiku Abubakar said, it is too late to make any change in the party leadership as election is close, he added any change needed can be make after election as the party’s focus now is how to win election.

PDP discussion with five APC Governors is in progress

The Party has recently stated that discussion are under way with five Governors of the ruling Party APC.

It could be recalled that miss understanding and battle of interest dominated the main Opposition Party in Nigeria shortly after the conduct of it is primary election on May this year which produces former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as Presidential Candate after defeating other aspirants that include Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.

Wike expected to be pick as Vice Presidential candidate but Atiku anointed Delta State Governor instead.

The People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) has claimed that its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is currently in talks with five All Progressives Congress (APC) governors.

This was disclosed by Kola Ologbondiyan, the spokesperson for the PDP’s presidential campaign council.

Ologbondiyan told newsmen that although the APC is planning to benefit from the rift between Atiku and Governor Nyesom Wike, the ruling party’s plan will fail.

“We are not unaware of the wishes and roles of the APC and its presidential candidate in their hope to draw capital from the disagreements in our party”

“But they need not worry because no fewer than five of the governors elected on the platform of APC are in consultation with the PDP and its Presidential candidate” the PDP’s spokeperson stated.

He added that , the ruling party definitely want to benefit from the situation but they will meet a brick wall.

Ayu described PDP’s claim of having discussion with five Peoples Democratic Party Governors as merely Political Propaganda.

Ayu Thomas is the lead advocate Public governance advocacy Trust

He said it is really unfortunate that PDP is trying to adopt falsehood strategy in order to win public sentiment within the political space.

“We suppose to understand that the party is the starting point of every thing, it is the recruitment centre for the candidates , it is also the centre that firstly suppose to be United to market the ideals and programmes of the party and the ingredients of fixing the Party together is unity ,fairness and Justice and in the whole of these PDP has completely failed ” Thomas said.

Mr. Thomas added that, is the Peoples Democratic Party’s failure to be United by contacting all the stake holders after the Primary election that cause all the problems experienced by the party and it has become a blessing to APC.

The Implications of PDP move to win Five APC Governors

Honourable Ayu Thomas Stated that there is no any implication at all , it is APC that gain from the crisis of the PDP , as he stressed that the PDP claim is not substantiated

Mr. Ayu says that Wike as a strong Pillar in PDP weather Atiku’s camp like it or not showing his support to Lagos State Governor Sanwo-Olu of APC is a very big blow to PDP

And he also donated money to APC women groups in Lagos meaning that he has made his focus and next line of action and area of interest Public.

He added that the same thing with Oyo State Governor Makinde who shows his support to APC Presidential Candidate by attending Afenifere meeting in Akure. These are the clear indications that the PDP lack all the ingredients of unity.
