Africa-Press – Nigeria. Team Nigeria continued their impressive performance in the wrestling event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham with Miesinnei Genesis winning another gold medal.
Genesis defeated Canada’s Madison Parks 3-1 to win gold medal in the women’s freestyle 50kg.
She followed in the footsteps of the duo of Odunayo Adekuroye and Blessing Oborududu who won gold medals for Team Nigeria in the wrestling event.
In the men’s freestyle 74kg, Ogbonna John picked bronze medal after a comfortable victory over Charlie Bowling of England.
Meanwhile, Cynthia Ogunsemilore and Faith Obazuaye also won bronze medals in boxing and para table tennis.
