Africa-Press – Nigeria. A serving soldier has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a dismissed military man to death during a late-night argument in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Security analyst, Zagazola Makama, disclosed this in a post on X on Saturday.
He said the incident happened around 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, in the Kasuwan Fara area of the city.
The suspect, a Lance Corporal serving with the Nigerian Army’s 7 Division, reportedly got into a heated argument with the victim, Musa Adamu, who was a former soldier.
During the fight, the Lance Corporal allegedly stabbed Musa in the chest with a jackknife.
“The victim was rushed to the Borno State Specialist Hospital but was confirmed dead by doctors. His body has been taken to the hospital morgue for autopsy,” Makama wrote.
According to the report, a senior army officer later handed the suspect over to the police on Friday.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a full investigation and possible court action.
