Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Super Falcons\u2019 captain, Onone Ebi has defended the Super Eagles following the team\u2019s shaky start to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.<\/p>\n

The Eagles failed to record a win against minnows Lesotho and Zimbabwe in their opening two games.<\/p>\n

Jose Peseiro\u2019s side laboured to a 1-1 draw against Likuena of Lesotho in their first game.<\/p>\n

The West Africans played a 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe in their next game.<\/p>\n

The players came under heavy criticisms for their insipid display.<\/p>\n

Ebi has however jumped to the Super Eagles\u2019 defence.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really sad to know that we have the best players in the world, but it is difficult to win games convincingly these days. It is really sad,\u201d she wrote on her Instagram page.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need that full support and enough of all this calling out players, insulting, and discouraging them after a bad game.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlayers go through a lot after all this, please lovers of football we can do better to help each other.\u201d<\/p>\n
