Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi has weighed in on the team\u2019s chances ahead of the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.<\/p>\n

Mikel was part of the Super Eagles side that conquered the rest of the continent in the 2013 edition hosted by South Africa.<\/p>\n

Jose Peseiro\u2019s side will be targeting a fourth AFCON title in Cote d\u2019Ivoire.<\/p>\n

Mikel has now drawn comparison between the team that won the competition in 2013 and the present squad.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a lot of difference, isn\u2019t it? Football has changed from ten years ago and dogmatically, it has really changed. I think this group of players now are a very young team,\u201d Mikel told CAF\u2019s Media.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey play a totally different brand of football, so let\u2019s hope we can really see good performance by us, the Nigerian team.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Super Eagles will face hosts Cote d\u2019Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau in Group C.<\/p>\n
