Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has hailed the Court of Appeal judgment affirming his election.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued by Aliyu\u2019s Press Secretary, Malam Abubakar Bawa, the governor said the judgment was a testament to Nigeria\u2019s impartial judiciary.<\/p>\n

Aliyu attributed the victory to the will of Almighty Allah.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe view this triumph as a divine blessing, and we commend the judiciary for upholding truth and justice,\u201d Aliyu said.<\/p>\n

He urged the opposition to collaborate with him to ensure development of the state.<\/p>\n

The governor assured the public of his administration\u2019s dedication to delivering democratic dividends.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe remain resolute in providing an environment conducive to development in our state.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur commitment includes ongoing efforts to eliminate bandits and criminals through sustained military operations,\u201d Aliyu emphasised, seeking support from all stakeholders.<\/p>\n

Aliyu urged continued support from the public, emphasising the need for unity in achieving the state\u2019s transformation.<\/p>\n

He expressed gratitude for the people\u2019s support and prayers, acknowledging their role in the state\u2019s successes while encouraging for more prayers, suggestions, and constructive criticisms of the state\u2019s progress.<\/p>\n

NAN reports that the Abuja appellate court upheld the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal\u2019s ruling on Monday, confirming Aliyu\u2019s victory in the 2023 polls.<\/p>\n

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, dissatisfied with the governorship election petition tribunal\u2019s decision, appealed to the appellate court, contesting Aliyu and Deputy Alhaji Idris Gobir\u2019s victory in the 2023 election.<\/p>\n
