Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Commissioner of Police in Kogi, Bethrand Onuoha, on Wednesday, cautioned troublemakers against causing problems in Kogi following the election.<\/p>\n

The Commissioner issued the warning after some party members protested at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).<\/p>\n

Some suspected SDP supporters in Kogi had stormed the INEC state secretariat early Wednesday morning, protesting \u201cINEC alleged tampering with election materials\u201d.<\/p>\n

Security forces, on the other hand, moved in quickly to prevent an attack on the INEC Office, dispersing demonstrators with tear gas and barricading the road leading to the building.<\/p>\n

The protest began peacefully until some protestors began throwing objects and abusing passers-by.<\/p>\n

Protesters demanded that the election materials be relocated to Abuja.<\/p>\n

One of the demonstrators, identified as Danjuma, told reporters that the APC had tampered with the papers at the INEC office.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have it on good authority that the APC and Yahaya Bello have tampered with the election materials.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe materials they are taking to the tribunal have already been doctored.<\/p>\n

So we are calling on INEC to take the original material to INEC, or we will make Kogi State ungovernable.\u201d<\/p>\n
