Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Decoy Squad, led by ASP Julius Robinson have arrested a forty-one-year-old leader of a kidnap syndicate, Morrison Godwin alongside other members of his gang who have been terrorising Warri and its environs<\/p>\n

The other suspected members of the kidnap gang who were arrested include, Raymond Etchie, Felix Okoro, Oghene Ogaga Sylvester, Henry Edeki, Ominike Sunday, Jerusalem Sunday and Theophilus Akpofi, all adult males.<\/p>\n

The leader of the kidnap gang was arrested at Amukpe Area of Sapele Town at about 1100hrs while others were arrested on 26\/11\/20023 at their meeting point.<\/p>\n

They were arrested for the alleged kidnap of a forty-three-year-old woman along Shell Road in Sapele on 19\/11\/2023 at about 9pm, while driving in her ML-350 Mercedes Benz.<\/p>\n

The victim was taken in her vehicle until the vehicle ran out of fuel and they moved her into their operational tricycle.<\/p>\n

She was released on 22\/11\/2023 after the payment of two million naira (#2.000,000) ransom.<\/p>\n

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the report in a statement signed and made available to DAILY POST.<\/p>\n

He gave the names of the suspects saying, \u201cRaymond Etchie \u2018m\u2019 46yrs who negotiated and received the said ransom; Felix Okoro \u2018m\u2019 40yrs who is one of the syndicate\u2019s operational driver; Oghene Ogaga sylvester \u2018m\u2019 45yrs who guarded the victim; Henry Edeki \u2018m\u2019 35yrs, Ominike Sunday \u2018m\u2019 23yrs, Jerusalem Sunday \u2018m\u2019 35yrs, and Theophilus Akpofi \u201cm\u201d 29yrs.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to DSP Edafe, \u201cAll suspects confessed to the crime admitting their various roles and have been identified by the victim.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe suspects during interrogation disclosed the location of the victim\u2019s vehicle which was later recovered at Oghara Town.<\/p>\n

\u201cEffort is being intensified to recover the syndicate\u2019s operational weapons.\u201d<\/p>\n
