Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) has passed for second reading, Governor Abdullahi Sule\u2019s appropriation bill of N199.9 billion for the 2024 fiscal year.<\/p>\n

Governor Sule presented the bill, titled \u201cBudget of Renewed Commitment,\u201d to the House for consideration and approval on December 1, 2023.<\/p>\n

Speaker Danladi Jatau (Kokona West, APC) announced the passage of the bill into the second reading during proceedings in Lafia on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Jatau asked the Committee on Finance and Appropriation to work on the bill and report back to the House on December 18, 2023.<\/p>\n

He expressed appreciation for the positive contributions made by members of the House during the budget deliberations and called for their continued support.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Majority Leader of the House, Suleiman Yakubu Azara, outlined the substance of the bill, emphasising its focus on achieving economic growth and development in the state.<\/p>\n

He commended Governor Sule for presenting a budget that addresses socio-economic challenges and improves the standard of living for the people.<\/p>\n

The motion for the bill to scale the second reading was moved by the Majority Leader and seconded by the Minority Leader, Luka Iliya Zhekaba.<\/p>\n

Various members of the House, including the Deputy Speaker, Muhammad Oyanki, expressed support for the budget.<\/p>\n

The committees of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly are set to begin inviting the management of MDAs for budget defence as part of the legislative process.<\/p>\n
