Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A 200-level student of the Department of Chemistry at the Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa University, ATBU, Moses Isah, has been reported missing.<\/p>\n

His disappearance was announced on the ATBU students Facebook group, \u2018Voice of Balewites\u2019, by his elder brother, Samson Isah.<\/p>\n

The Facebook post urged anyone with information to call specific numbers.<\/p>\n

The post reads: \u201cI am Moses Isah\u2019s elder brother. Pls anybody with any information of his whereabouts should pls call 07083340906 or 07039785845. He has been missing for the past 15 months. He is a student of ATBU.\u201d<\/p>\n

Isah said his brother had been missing for 15 months, adding that all efforts to locate him proved abortive.<\/p>\n

According to him, he had filed a report at a Police Station but due to financial constraints, could not \u201cfollow up after the police started requesting for money\u201d.<\/p>\n

Moses was last seen at his lodge in Yelwa Tuldu.<\/p>\n

When asked if the school management was aware of his brother\u2019s disappearance, Isah said he approached a particular lecturer (name withheld) for assistance.<\/p>\n

When contacted, the spokesman of the Bauchi State Police Command, Ahmed Wakil, did not respond to messages and calls.<\/p>\n

ATBU\u2019s Director of Information, Zailani Bappa, said the university\u2019s management has no record of any missing student, adding that it has limited knowledge of what goes on outside the institution\u2019s premises.<\/p>\n

Bappa, who wondered why the brother of the missing student took so long to announce the development, said, \u201cNobody has come to make any report to us that his brother is missing. We are not responsible for the safety of students staying off-campus but if the matter was reported to us, our duty is to report such matter to the Police.\u201d<\/p>\n
