Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Abia State Government has assured of a peaceful Yuletide season in the state.<\/p>\n

The Special Adviser on Security Matter to the Governor of Abia State, Naval Commander Macdonald Ubah (rtd), gave the assurance on Friday, noting that the state government has put measures in place to ensure the security of lives and property.<\/p>\n

Ubah spoke while interacting with journalists in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cGovernor Alex Otti has given marching orders that he wants this state totally safe in this coming Yuletide.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you notice, a lot of people have indicated interest in coming back for this year\u2019s Christmas and New Year celebrations.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you know, the government flagged off Operation Crush and other security task forces led by officers of the Nigeria police, Army, Navy, Civil Defence Corps, Immigration, the Abia Vigilante Service, etc, who are empowered to tackle any acts of criminality in Abia areas.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir operations will continue till after the Yuletide.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are measures put in place to make sure that there\u2019s peace in the state.\u201d<\/p>\n
