Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, has elected a new chairman after an election in Abuja on Monday.<\/p>\n

Following the election, Yabagi Yusuf Sani, who doubled as the National Chairman of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, and IPAC, will be handing over to Alhaji Yusuf Dantalle.<\/p>\n

The election was keenly contested between the incumbent, Yusuf Sani, who scored eight votes to lose to Dantalle, who polled 10 votes.<\/p>\n

The electoral chairman, Dan Nwayanwu, declared Dantalle, the national chairman of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, the winner of the election.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will take the council to the next level. I will do it sincerely between me and God,\u201d Dantalle told reporters after he was declared the winner.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will [also] take women in politics to the next level within this time that I\u2019m in power,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Sani accepted defeat and congratulated Dantalle, promising to work with the new chairman and the new leadership of the council.<\/p>\n
