Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has reiterated his administration\u2019s commitment to ensuring prudent financial management in all sectors of the state.<\/p>\n

Mutfwang stated this while unveiling a 32-seater coaster bus purchased by the management of the Mighty Jets International Football Club of Jos on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI\u2019m highly delighted to be able to present a bus to Mighty Jets International Football Club today. But particularly, I would like to salute the management of the club for its resourcefulness, because we didn\u2019t particularly allocate the money, but out of the savings they made, they were able to procure this bus.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis shows prudence in financial management, which we tend to pursue to make it a culture on the Plateau. We have always made a commitment to our people that we will manage their resources effectively, and this is a demonstration by this club. So, I\u2019m particularly delighted. And this has gone a long way towards fulfilling my desire to ensure that sports is resuscitated on the Plateau.\u201d<\/p>\n

He noted that Mighty Jets International Football Club is a club with history.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will not allow it to die,\u201d he said, pledging that \u201cwe will ensure that it regains its rightful place in the annals of football in Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also added, \u201cWe plan to procure new buses at a later time,\u201d urging the team to \u201cwin your matches and bring glory back to the state.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier in his remarks, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in the State, Bashir Lawandi, appreciated the governor for fulfilling his promise for the club.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThis kind of gesture is laudable, as it will impact positively on both the players and management of the club.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also speaking, the General Manager of the Club, Mbum Ferdinand, said: \u201cWhat we have been able to achieve in the past four months, in the last eight years we could not achieve it. We want to thank the governor for his magnanimity and doggedness in his support for the club.\u201d<\/p>\n
