Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Federal Government said it will soon set up a committee to select a new crop of ambassadors to replace those that have been recalled.<\/p>\n

Alkasim Abdulkadir, Special Assistant on Media and Communications Strategy to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, made this disclosure in an interview with newsmen in Abuja.<\/p>\n

Abdulkadir said the selection of the new ambassadors would require wide-ranging consultations with relevant stakeholders.<\/p>\n

According to him, all the recalled ambassadors have returned to the country, contrary to reports that most of them have been unable to return due to financial constraints.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST recalls that President Bola Tinubu, on September 2, 2023, recalled all the country\u2019s ambassadors, both career and non-career.<\/p>\n

They were asked to return to the country on or before October 31, 2023.<\/p>\n

Nigeria has no fewer than 300 foreign missions.<\/p>\n

The directive, according to the president\u2019s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, was a sequel to a careful study of the present state of affairs at Nigerian consulates, offices, and embassies across the world.<\/p>\n
