Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A 5-man robbery gang specialized in robbing hotels and Point of Sale (PoS) in Calabar has been arrested by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).<\/p>\n

State Commandant of the NSCDC, Charles Brown, who paraded the suspects in Calabar, confirmed the arrest, saying they were arrested following an intelligence report.<\/p>\n

He, however, said the gang leader was being trailed, explaining that the suspects were arrested at various locations with charms, arms and ammunition and other items.<\/p>\n

Names of the suspects were given as Gospel Otu, 25; Mohammed Abdulahi, 18; Paul Edem, 19; Miracle Augustine, 15 and Rex Okokon, 22.<\/p>\n

Two of the suspects have confessed to committing the crimes<\/p>\n

Brown stressed that they would be handed over to the police after their investigation.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cThey recently robbed a hotel in Calabar South LGA where their faces were captured by the CCTV mounted in the hotel.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also traced them to a phone they stole in the hotel. We have been on them for some time now and just this morning, we apprehended one of them who took us to round up the four others.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are on the trail of the gang leader, and we will get him,\u201d Brown explained.<\/p>\n

The Commandant vowed that the NSCDC in collaboration with other sister security agencies in the state would make Cross River uninhabitable for criminals.<\/p>\n
