Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Borno State Government has appealed to residents to remain calm, assuring them that power will soon be restored to all parts of the metropolis and Jere local government area.<\/p>\n

The State Commissioner for Transport and Energy, Aliyu Mohammed Bamanga gave the assurance in a statement made available to newsmen.<\/p>\n

The assurance follows the total blackout witnessed in the state in recent times.<\/p>\n

The commissioner stated, \u201cThe Borno State Government has coordinated and brought together all stakeholders, and the Maiduguri Emergency Backup system was activated, restoring power to parts of the city.\u201d<\/p>\n

The commissioner conveyed Governor Zulum\u2019s concern over the blackout and his commitment to resolving it promptly.<\/p>\n

He stated, \u201cGovernor Zulum expressed deep concern over the power outage and its adverse effects on the people of Borno State\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to him, the governor acknowledged the hardships faced by citizens and emphasized that the Borno State Government will continue to encourage all relevant stakeholders and ensure that all necessary efforts are being mobilized to expedite the restoration of power to other areas currently without electricity.<\/p>\n

The commissioner expressed gratitude to the federal government, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), and the Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC), among other stakeholders.<\/p>\n
