Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Police in Ado-Ekiti, on Thursday, arraigned 27-year-old Adeniyi Ayomide before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates\u2019 Court for alleged stealing and assault.<\/p>\n

Ayomide, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of stealing and assault.<\/p>\n

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.<\/p>\n

The Prosecutor, Inspector Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences with some others still at large on December 17 in Ifaki-Ekiti.<\/p>\n

Adeniyi said that the defendant stole one iPhone 11 promax, worth N345,000, belonging to Mr Adewaye Temitope.<\/p>\n

He said that the defendant and his accomplices also beat-up the complainant.<\/p>\n

Adeniyi said that the offences contravened Sections 302(1) (a) and 187(a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.<\/p>\n

He urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him to assemble his witnesses.<\/p>\n

Defence Counsel, Mr Tolu Bewaji, urged the court to grant his client bail, promising that he would not jump bail.<\/p>\n

The Magistrate, Mrs Dolapo Babalogbon, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety, in like sum.<\/p>\n

Babalogbon adjourned the case to Feb. 14, 2024 for mention.<\/p>\n
