Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Defence got the highest allocation \u2013 N1.3tn in the approved 2024 budget.<\/p>\n

An increased appropriation Bill was passed by both chambers of the National Assembly.<\/p>\n

The parliament increased the budget submitted by President Bola Tinubu by the sum of N1.2 trillion.<\/p>\n

The Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Bichi, told reporters at the end of the special session on Saturday that the N1.2 trillion increase was because of inflation, as well as the promise by Government Owned Enterprises, GOEs, to increase their revenue.<\/p>\n

In the approved budget, DAILY POST reports that the Ministry of Defence got the highest allocation of N1.3tn.<\/p>\n

This is followed by the Ministry of Police Affairs with N869.121bn.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Education got N857.134bn.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare \u2013 N667.577bn.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Interior \u2013 N362.552bn.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Youths \u2013 N201.467bn.<\/p>\n

The Office of the National Security Adviser \u2013 N199.763bn.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs \u2013 N140.456bn.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security \u2013 N110.248bn.<\/p>\n

The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation \u2013 N100.248bn.<\/p>\n
