Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, has called on former National Chairman of the council, Yusuf Sani, to emulate ex-president Goodluck Jonathan and desist from creating trouble in the organisation.<\/p>\n

IPAC held its election on December 18 and a new chairman emerged in the person of Yusuf Dantalle.<\/p>\n

Sani, who doubled as the National Chairman of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, and IPAC, accepted defeat, congratulated Dantalle before the press, and also declared the election free and fair.<\/p>\n

In the keenly contested election, Sani scored 8 votes to lose to Dantalle, who polled 10 votes.<\/p>\n

But to the shock of many observers, Sani, who is still struggling to defend the allegations of declaring some of the ADP candidates dead and submitting their death certificates to INEC, ran to court on December 28, 2023, to get a court order stopping the inauguration of the newly elected IPAC National Executives.<\/p>\n

And IPAC, in a statement signed by Chinyere Ogekalu, its National Publicity Secretary, is calling on the ADP National Chairman to not cause a crisis in the Council that is supposed to serve as a mirror for political parties in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe question is: why the haste in running to court after not only congratulating the winner but also filing a petition challenging the outcome of the election on December 22, 2023, at the IPAC Election Appeal Committee set up by his tyrannical administration?\u201d The organisation queries.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe court, having been deceived by Yabagi Sani, may not have been aware that at the time the order was granted on December 29, 2023, the tenure of Yabagi Sani already expired<\/p>\n

\u201cEngr. Yabagi Sani should emulate this noble example [by Goodluck Jonathan] because creating unnecessary crises in IPAC is not worth his ambition.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd if he refuses to desist from his shenanigans, posterity will so harshly judge him and his enablers who are determined to unsettle the Council because they are bad losers.\u201d<\/p>\n
