Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, received the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, at the Anambra Governor\u2019s Lodge in Amawbia on Friday.<\/p>\n

Soludo, while receiving Musa, commended the Nigerian Army for her efforts in ensuring the liberation of eight local government areas of the state that were previously under the control of criminals known as unknown gunmen.<\/p>\n

The governor highlighted the role of the armed forces and other security agencies in the fight against criminals in the state.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cWhen we declared war on them, they couldn\u2019t withstand the force. The success in securing communities like Ukpor, formerly dominated by armed groups, underscored the hand of fellowship extended by this government to those seeking rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI commend the military\u2019s efforts in bridging the gap between the armed forces and the civilian population.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour visit is a social visit, revealing the softer side of the military to demonstrate that they are part of the people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Governor Soludo also requested the deployment of military men and materials to enhance precision targeting to eliminate the havens where the criminals hide.<\/p>\n

He expressed gratitude to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, DSS, NSCDC, and the local vigilante group for the significant progress achieved in restoring peace and security in the state.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Chief of Defence Staff acknowledged the improved security situation in Anambra State, assuring Soludo of his continued commitment to securing the state.<\/p>\n

He emphasised the importance of collaboration with the people and recognising them as the core purpose of military service.<\/p>\n

Gen. Musa said: \u201cThis visit signifies a strengthening partnership between the Anambra State government and the Nigerian Armed Forces in ensuring peace and fostering sustainable development in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n
