Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Nigeria Premier Football League chairman, Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye, has said an Africa Cup of Nations triumph for the Super Eagles will add huge value to domestic football in Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Elegbeleye disclosed this during a chat with the NPFL media.<\/p>\n

He said that winning the 2023 AFCON will increase the demand for players from the country.<\/p>\n

The Super Eagles are aiming for a fourth AFCON title after previously winning it in 1980, 1994 and 2013.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs it stands, there\u2019s growing interest in football among young boys and girls, but winning the fourth AFCON title will energise more numbers and increase their appetite to be like their compatriots who made the success possible,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is not in doubt that domestic football has been on the upward trajectory in terms of investments, especially in the league.<\/p>\n

\u201cWinning the AFCON will add impetus in our capacity to attract more domestic and foreign investors because success is a magnate to industry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cote d\u2019Ivoire will take on Guinea Bissau in the opening match of the competition on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Super Eagles will begin their campaign against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.<\/p>\n
