Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro is optimistic that midfielder Alhassan Yusuf will be fit to play Nigeria\u2019s next game at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.<\/p>\n

Yusuf, who made his competitive debut for the Super Eagles against the Nzalang Nacional was stretchered off in the second half and was replaced by Joe Aribo.<\/p>\n

The Royal Antwerp midfielder put up an impressive performance in the game.<\/p>\n

Peseiro, who refused to provide any information on the severity of the injury, is hopeful the player will be available for his side\u2019s next game against hosts Cote d\u2019Ivoire.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI don\u2019t know much about his (Yusuf\u2019s ) injury for now, but we are hoping it is nothing too serious,\u201d Peseiro said in his post-match interaction with the media.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe started the game because he deserved to play, he played well from the first minute.<\/p>\n

\u2018We hope he will be able to play the next game against Cote d\u2019Ivoire.\u201d<\/p>\n
