Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru has inaugurated an eight-man committee for the provision and installation of a security surveillance system along the Abuja-Kaduna highway and rail line.<\/p>\n

Badaru said on Tuesday in Abuja that the provision of the surveillance system was to checkmate the frequent security breaches along the routes.<\/p>\n

NAN reported that the committee, headed by the ministry\u2019s Director of Joint Services, has members drawn from security agencies.<\/p>\n

The minister further said that the inauguration of the committee signified a remarkable milestone in ensuring safety along the Abuja-Kaduna highway and railway.<\/p>\n

He expressed confidence in the committee\u2019s ability to deliver tangible results, thereby reinforcing the federal government\u2019s commitment to addressing security concerns on major transportation routes in the country.<\/p>\n

He said that the committee was mandated to source a security surveillance system that meets the technical specifications, ensure its successful installation, and suggest other measures necessary for the seamless implementation of the system.<\/p>\n

NAN reported that the committee has 18 months to complete the assignment.<\/p>\n
