{"id":108165,"date":"2024-01-23T21:22:50","date_gmt":"2024-01-23T20:22:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/3-brothers-in-court-over-alleged-n365000-theft-2"},"modified":"2024-01-24T00:20:37","modified_gmt":"2024-01-23T23:20:37","slug":"3-brothers-in-court-over-alleged-n365000-theft-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/3-brothers-in-court-over-alleged-n365000-theft-2","title":{"rendered":"3 brothers in court over alleged N365,000 theft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Twins, Taye and Kehinde Taiwo, 22, and their younger brother, Israel Taiwo, 20, on Tuesday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court charged with N365,000 theft.<\/p>\n<p>The defendants, all residents of 19, Odunbaku St., Iju- Ishaga, Lagos State, are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.<\/p>\n<p>The Prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offences were committed on November 11, 2023, at 18, Ogooluwa St., Iju- Ishaga in Lagos State.<\/p>\n<p>Akeem said Taye, a hairstylist, allegedly stole an ATM card belonging to his employer, Mrs Jumoke Oreofero, and withdrew N365,000 from her account.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor said the hairstylist thereafter fled from his work place, but when he was later apprehended named his co-defendants as accomplices.<\/p>\n<p>The offences, Akeem said, contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Bola Osunsanmi, granted the defendants N50,000 bail each, and with two sureties each in like sum.<\/p>\n<p>Osunsanmi adjourned the case until February 8 for mention.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
