Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>No fewer than 50 people lost their lives and properties worth N215 million were destroyed in fire incidents in Jigawa State in 2023.<\/p>\n

State Director of the Fire Service Directorate Ibrahim Gumel disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the command\u2019s achievements.<\/p>\n

He said the agency responded to 160 fire calls and 45 rescue calls from different parts of the state.<\/p>\n

He added that 250 lives and property worth over N755 million were saved in 2023 across the state in fire, drowning and road accidents.<\/p>\n

Gumel advised the general public to be careful while handling fire and electricity appliances, especially during harmattan.<\/p>\n
