Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Lagos State Police Command says it has identified an officer captured on video demanding bribe from a motorist.<\/p>\n

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, identified the officer as ASP Luka Bashayi.<\/p>\n

The PPRO said that the erring officer had been identified and investigation into the matter has already commenced.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will not gloss over this. He is ASP Luka Bashayi, serving at Ogudu Area Command.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Lagos Police Complaint Unit, CRU, has commenced actions on this,\u201d the police image maker said.<\/p>\n

In a video which went viral on Saturday, the police officer was seen demanding bribe from a motorist.<\/p>\n

The officer insisted that the motorist would not leave unless he paid him the demanded bribe.<\/p>\n

He said to the motorist, \u201cDo sharp sharp and go now, if not, I will do my job.\u201d<\/p>\n

He called out his bank account details to the motorist for him to transfer money, before he would allow him to go on his way.<\/p>\n
