Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has admonished the area council chairmen in the nation\u2019s capital city to stay in their domains and develop the communities.<\/p>\n

The former Rivers State Governor gave the admonition on Wednesday in Yangoji, when he inaugurated the construction of 11-kilometre rural road expected to connect Sukuku Ebo and Yangoji communities in the Kwali Area Council.<\/p>\n

\u201cContinue to stay at home. Don\u2019t come to the city regularly. Stay there and do the work. My own is to support you.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you don\u2019t do well for rural communities, you will create problems for the city,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to the Minister the FCT Administration is ready to work with chairmen of FCT area councils with the aim of driving development in rural areas.<\/p>\n

Specifically, Wike promised to complete all abandoned projects in the Abaji and other area councils, stressing that era of abandoned projects was over.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cWe are touching rural areas to renew their hope because they have suffered years of abandonment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is your time to benefit. If we don\u2019t take care of rural areas, then we have failed as a government.\u201d<\/p>\n
