Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Gunmen have killed the 2023 House of Representatives candidate from Anambra State, Jude Oguejiofor.<\/p>\n

Oguejiofor hailed from Orsumoghu in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra but lived in Nnewi in Nnewi North Local Government Area.<\/p>\n

Oguejiofor, a lawyer, contested for the Ihiala Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat in the 2023 general elections under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.<\/p>\n

Sources told DAILY POST that the politician was abducted around 1 am, some days ago, alongside his brother, by some gunmen.<\/p>\n

The incident happened in the Orsumoghu Community, where they had gone to see their aged parents.<\/p>\n

But the gunmen later released his brother, a medical doctor resident overseas, unhurt.<\/p>\n

A source close to the family, who asked not to be named, said that the gunmen accused Oguejiofor of writing petitions against them and their activities in the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey said he had been writing petitions against them to the Anambra State Government,\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n

As at the time of filing this report, there was no official reaction from the Anambra State Police command, but a police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed the development.<\/p>\n
