Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Port Harcourt Refining Company Limited, PHRC, has received a supply of 475,000 barrels of crude oil from the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited through its Bonny Oil & Gas Terminal, BOGT.<\/p>\n

Dr Osagie Okunbor, the Country Chair of Shell Companies in Nigeria and Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), disclosed this in a statement on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cTeams from BOGT and PHRC worked through intensive preparations, collaboration, and dedication to make the project successful. This is a significant step in the nation\u2019s renewed efforts to utilise key infrastructures to assure the steady supply of products from the refining company to the Nigerian market.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe demand for the product would guide future supplies from BOGT.\u201d<\/p>\n

Osita Nnajiofor, Bonny Terminal Installation Manager, said the company ascertained that the product met standards before supply.<\/p>\n

The statement added, \u201cBefore implementing the product supplies to the refining company, the project teams first assured the integrity of pipelines relevant to NNPC Limited subsidiaries and integrity and maintenance activities on the BOGT refinery export pumps (which had been shut down for an extended period).<\/p>\n

\u201cThese actions resulted in the successful and safe completion of the refinery supply with no harm to people, environment, or equipment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe recommencement of crude oil supply from the Bonny Oil and Gas Terminal to the Port Harcourt Refining Company Limited is a significant achievement and a game-changer for the industry and the country and will support the federal government\u2019s aspiration of a steady supply of petroleum products to the downstream market and other associated benefits to the economy of the nation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The Port Harcourt Refinery completed mechanical rehabilitation in December last year.<\/p>\n
