Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The police on Monday arraigned a 23-year-old man, Abdul Samad, before an Ikeja Magistrates\u2019 Court, Lagos, for allegedly stabbing another man with a pair of scissors on his waist.<\/p>\n

The defendant, a trader, who resides at Ogba, was tried for causing a breach of peace and assault.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor, Insp. Innocent Odugbo told the court that the offences were committed on Jan. 9, 2024, in the Sakamori area, Ogba, Lagos.<\/p>\n

Odugbo said a fight ensued between the complainant, Mr Samsudeen Jolaosho and the defendant over money.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor said the defendant stabbed the complainant with a scissor on his waist, leading to severe bleeding.<\/p>\n

He added that the complainant was rushed to the hospital by passersby.<\/p>\n

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 168 and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.<\/p>\n

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n

The Magistrate, Mrs M. O. Popoola granted the defendant bail of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.<\/p>\n

Popoola adjourned the case until March 20 for mention.<\/p>\n
