Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People\u2019s Democratic Party, nPDP, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has said that it smacks of ridicule and manifest insensitivity to the plight of Nigerians for the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike to start talking about 2027 presidential election in the face of the current economic hardship and hunger in the land.<\/p>\n

Eze noted that many Nigerians have been reduced to the status of hunger-stricken refugees in their own land.<\/p>\n

Wike had recently, at a Thanksgiving Service in honour of Senator Barinada Mpigi, in Koroma, Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, boasted that no one can challenge him at the polls in Rivers State and Eze wondered why the Minister could come up with such narrative when the administration under which he serves has thrown the country into the darkest period of economic woes in the annals of its history.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is ridiculous that while many Nigerians are dying in droves because of the hardship facing us as a nation, an opportunist like Nyesom Wike, the Minister of FCT, would be talking about 2027 general elections and how nobody will be in position to challenge him and his group,\u201d Eze said in a statement he made available to reporters on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

In a report titled, \u201cI Don\u2019t Know Who Can Challenge Us In 2027\u201d Wike highlighted that with the alliances his political camp has formed, the 2027 elections will be a walk in the park for them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the forces we have, I don\u2019t know of anybody who can challenge us. I can tell you it is like tomorrow is 2027. For me, it is still very far, I can\u2019t wait. The two leaders of the party, APC is here, PDP is here; where can you find that leadership unity? Which state? It is only in Rivers that you can find that unity.<\/p>\n

Reacting, Eze said \u201cwith the confidence the FCT Minister spoke on how he intends to rig elections in 2027, it is either the former governor no longer operates from Nigeria or must be operating either from the Moon or the Sun not to observe the level of protests all over the country or the Collapse of our Naira or the failure of our economy and the attendant hunger ravaging Nigerians.\u201d<\/p>\n
