Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The President General, Nigeria Football Supporters Club, NFSC, Rafiu Ladipo, has insisted that Jose Peseiro performed beyond expectations as Super Eagles coach despite not being given the chance at all.<\/p>\n

He also suggested to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to appoint another coach better than Peseiro and not anyone that is not up to his standard for the Super Eagles job.<\/p>\n

Peseiro, who led Nigeria to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, final in Ivory Coast, had, in a farewell message on his official X handle on Friday, appreciated the NFF and other stakeholders in Nigeria football for the opportunity given to him to serve as coach of the Super Eagles.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the development, Ladipo told NAN:<\/p>\n

\u201dNow, we need to start looking for another coach better than [Jose] Peseiro and not anyone that\u2019s not up to his standard.<\/p>\n

\u201dWhether we like it or not, he took us to the finals of the 2023 AFCON.<\/p>\n

\u201dPeseiro wasn\u2019t given a chance at all, but he performed beyond the expectations and the target of semi-final berth, up to the final against the host nation, Ivory Coast.\u201d<\/p>\n
