Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Presidency has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu will on Thursday launch the Student Loan Scheme.<\/p>\n

Tinubu\u2019s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, disclosed this on Sunday while appearing on TVC\u2019s programme \u2018Counting the Cost of Presidents Tinubu\u2019s Reforms.\u2019<\/p>\n

According to Ngelale, \u201cLater this week, on Thursday, the President will launch the historic National Student Loan Programme.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a major form of obligation reduction for Nigerians and families and young people at a time when Nigerians are feeling the pinch. We believe this is the way to go.\u201d<\/p>\n

On June 12, 2023, Tinubu signed the Access to Higher Education Act, 2023, into law.<\/p>\n

The bill is aimed at enabling students to access interest-free loans for educational purposes.<\/p>\n

The Federal Government had delayed in starting the scheme that was initially scheduled to commence between September and October 2023,<\/p>\n
