Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Zamfara State Government has assured that schools in the state will be secured, saying it is committed to being security-conscious to ensure that every part of the state is accessible to residents, especially teachers and students.<\/p>\n

The state Commissioner of Education, Science, and Technology, Wadatau Madawaki, gave this assurance during a meeting with the Permanent Secretary, Directors, and Civil Society Technical Team on Safe School Initiatives in Zamfara State.<\/p>\n

\u201cGovernor Dauda Lawal\u2019s led administration has put strategies in place to ensure that all parts of the state are reached, to give the students motivation, and the teachers the support required to provide quality education to the pupils,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to him, successes have been recorded in the fight against banditry, as some schools out of the 168 schools that were in the red zone have been directed to resume, leaving only 75 schools in bandits\u2019 control areas.<\/p>\n

He added that the state government had offset the debt that the previous administration owed the National Examination Council (NECO) and secured the original certificates for candidates of public schools who sat for the 2019, 2020, and 2021 examinations.<\/p>\n

The Civil Society Organization (CSO) on Safe School Initiatives has been mounting pressure on the government to provide funding, training, and coordination to ensure all schools are safe for students to undertake their learning without fear of terror.<\/p>\n

The Zamfara State Government said it will provide a secure environment for residents to go about their legitimate endeavors peacefully, which it said is one of the aspirations of the administration.<\/p>\n
